It seems that it takes an average of 17 years for research to translate into practice. Many patients, as a result, experience significant delays or never get offered interventions proven to improve health (Morris, Z. S., Wooding, S., & Grant, J. (2011)).
At BTB Rehab we’ve gathered some tools and resources to help our users with their translating practices and needs, hoping that it facilitates clinical decision-making and/or investigations.
CAT – Critically Appraised Topic Manager
A tool from the CEBMa CAT Critically Appraised Topic Manager App, freely adapted by the BTB.Rehab team.
It is designed to help users critically appraise the trustworthiness of reviews, randomized and non-randomized controlled trials and interrupted time series in 5 to 10 minutes.
RobotReviewer, a third-party application property of
Byron Wallace, Iain Marshall, Joël Kuiper, and Frank Soboczenski, uses AI to assess the risk of bias for the first four questions of the Cochrane RoB1 tool.

To facilitate CPG grading, we have developed a form using the Tripdatabase 8-point scoring system.
